(Please see attached admission checklist and instructions for full details of admission criteria)
For international students that wish to enroll in Frostburg State University’s MBA program and begin their study in their home country, there are two phases of the admission process. Phase I would be provisional admission that would allow the student to take the first 12 to 15 credits (4-5 courses) online from their home country.
Provisional admission (Phase I) will require:
- Application and fee of $30.00
- Official Transcripts from university where student received bachelor’s degree
- Course by course evaluation of the official transcript by educational evaluation service
- GMAT (Graduate Management Admissions Test) or GRE (Graduate Record Examinations) test scores
- TOEFL or IELTS or other approved language certification. This requirement is waived if you have received your bachelor’s degree from an institution in which English was the primary language of instruction. A letter from your University providing this documentation will enable you to obtain a waiver from this requirement.
- Financial Certification in English that provides proof of funds to cover one year of study in the US.
- Original or certified copy of a Bank Statement
In order to progress to Phase II or full admission in good standing, the student must obtain an F-1 Visa and come to the Frostburg campus to complete the degree requirements. Full admission requirements will require:
- Student to maintain a 3.0 Grade Point average in all coursework completed in the program
- Resubmission of an updated Financial Certification in English that provides proof of funds to cover one year of study in the US.
- Resubmission of the orginal or certified copy of a Bank Statement
- Statement of Health Insurance acceptance
- Photocopy of Passport if available
Once the above criteria are met and the student has received admission in good standing status, the student will be issued an I-20 from Frostburg State University. If at the end of the 12-15 credits (4-5 courses) a student is not able to meet the Phase II admission criteria to be issued an I-20 or the student for any reason is unsuccessful in obtaining an F-1 visa to come to Frostburg to complete the degree, the student will be unable to continue with coursework.
